“Sir David Attenborough,
It feels almost unreal that you’re turning 100. For as long as I can remember, your voice has been part of how I understand the world of nuature - calm, curious, and full of wonder.
You didn’t just show us nature, you helped us feel connected to it. You made the smallest creatures fascinating, the vastest landscapes feel close, and the biggest problems impossible to ignore. Because of you, I know that an Impala is my favourite jumping party animal and that we have to do everything now to rehabilitate forrest, clean our waterways, reduce our consumption and most important ly make caring about the planet feels less like an obligation and more like something deeply human.
There’s something incredibly grounding about the way you’ve contributed to our lives. It’s rare, and it’s powerful.

“Happy Birthday and thank you for your contribution to humanity and the earth. Watching ‘Life on Earth’ in 1979 with classmates in Australia I saw the power of your message as the whole class was fixated; even those who had previously showed little empathy for the natural world. After reading “Quest in Paradise” I knew what I wanted to do and owe my life as an ecologist to your inspiration. May your legacy be for the world to stop, appreciate that we are just a passenger on spaceship earth and turn from our current path to one where we work with the natural world as bothers and sisters and not destroy our life support systems.”
“Thank you so much, I grew up watching your documentaries with my grandparents, and they instilled a love of nature in me. I in turn have raised my kids on your documentaries, so 4 generations of my family learned about nature and the complex and fascinating systems and animals of the world from you. Thank you!! Happy birthday and much love from 4 generations!”
“Thanks for care of our people and our planet ”
“Hey David, I am writing from Muloobinba, land of seaferns, wallabies and eagles, Newcastle, NSW, Australia. 13th United Nations City in the world. If you have time, you should come and visit us.....I would love to see a doco on how resilient nature is surviving even in industrial towns like this.....I often see owls, wallabies, blue-tongue lizards, and sweet little sugar gliders living amongst the dangers of suburbia and recently, a whole community of koalas
It was found in a tiny forest fragment.....the creatures sure are survivalists here, but they are here...despite how hard it has all been....and whole communities of people are joining to help keep them safe....this week I met a man on a bus....rough looking with a fish rod holding a bucket of something protectively.....turned out his bucket contained a seaweed....he was taking it home to propigate it so that he could help the fish he liked to fish......help comes from surprising places.....
Just wanted to thank you for sharing your love of nature with the world, and inspiring and connecting/reconnecting us to our animal and plant families.....we live in amazing worlds.....I hope your day is full of love and blessings that you deserve....I can't wait to connect with another film.....Hope I get to meet you one day!
I am a climate change activist working on the development of a food security project which limits the need for land clearing and reduces other environmental impacts of traditional agriculture....
Your films fill my nature cup on days I can't get out of the house.
Don't forget to dance!
Demand the impossible!

“My family bonded as you took us on adventures into the natural world. I acknowledge your significant influence in instilling in me the qualities of awe and wonder of the natural world, which deepened as I took my own adventures in bushlands and high places throughout the world. As a Baha'i, I connect deeply with this quote "Say: Nature in its essence is the embodiment of My Name, the Maker, the Creator. Its manifestations are diversified by varying causes, and in this diversity there are signs for men of discernment. Nature is God's Will and is its expression in and through the contingent world." Thank you again for teaching so many of us to deeply care and know the precious diversity and power of the Natural world. Sending you deep regard and warmest wishes for your birthday. ”
